so i had to suffer through the ca last weekend, it was rough at 1st, i was actually sick to my stomach the night before, fortunately my little boy kept me occupied during the session and i got to walk around a lot.. the do cracked down on 'true christians' watching vampire movies aka....twilight.
i know this series is hugely popular with a lot of teens and 20somthings, even a young elder and his wife (mostly the wife) are really into them.. he said true christians just don't watch such things.
haha.
They are doing what the Catholic Church use to do years ago. They had a list put up, these movies are condemned, etc. Those were the ones we went to. ones we went to. I thanked the church for that list.
Same with the the Tower, some will now watch the twilght and other vamp. movies, just because they said not to watch them.
with the "generation change" and them changing it all the time it would make sence to dump it all togeather.. lets face it ,it can be disproved easly.. they dumped 1975 in a heart beat .. this would buy them all the time they wanted as they would just find another date to start the generation from ie: "the u.n year of peace and sercurty'',1986 i belive or whatever else they could think of.. they could sell it to the r&f as easly as they sold 1975,then dumped it when it did'nt happen .. anyone questioning them would be told they are running ahead of jehovah or lacking faith in his earthly org that feeds us food at the proper time .. what do you think?.

Right on point! Non-religious people are just as moral if not more moral than religious persons.
Not to paint all believers with one stroke. There are to be sure many moral people who just happen to belong to one religious organization or another.
But, for the most part A. C. Grayling in just a short time has demonstrated that throughout history religion has acted immorally toward others who don't share their faith and dogmas.

1) The Bible Unearthed Archaeology's new vision of ancient Israel and the origin of its sacred texts. By Israel Finkelstein and Neil Asher Silberman.
2) Who wrote the Bible. By Richard Elliot Friedman.
Google both books and read something about them that others have said and then decide if quoting scriptures to find out the truth about such things as the garden of eden, tree of knowledge, adam and eve, etc. leads to knowledge of God or knowledge of a people who wrote these texts.

The May 11 episode is starting to give some answers. We watched it last night and it kept our interest. Two more episodes left, next week and then the conclusion. I hope the conclusion does not give us a big letdown after all these years.

Who in the world of Jehovah's Witnesses put this scheme together? Someone, somewhere, on the planet, got a brain fart and the writing committee followed through. The Governing Body needed filler material to send the rank and file home talking about this "Generation Thing" to keep them hopped up on the trip home and there after.
Back to 70AD. Jerusalem falls and that generation ( at the time Jesus called it "This Generation" ) witnessed the fullfillment of all these things that will pass away.
There is no other "Generation" fullfillment. It's over and done with. They know that.
However, the bottom line is that the society will be counting all that "CASH"coming in after the final talk is given at all the conventions.
Sales are good for the Watchtower Society at this time of the years.

the watchtower bible and tract society, from the beginning, has offered a better deal than that of all the competitors.. it began by peddling soul sleep and resurrection to a paradise with a perfect body vs eternal torment in hell.
who would not respond emotionally to such a choice of potential fates?.
it offered a definite ending on certain dates rather than a fuzzy uncertainty.
How many times over 30 yrs have we had a share in the quick build kingdom halls, one that would be your very own spanking new hall. Then have to leave to go to another hall because of the splitting the halls for some other congregations needs.
You would contribute your time and money for years and the society would take all of that and sell it off and you get zero in return for all your hard labor, money donated toward the project and time that could of been spent elsewhere.
If you were not a pioneer you could not count the time in service at the building site, so, you still had to go out in the field service to get your time in.
On to another hall that might be old and again we are going to build another quick build kingdom hall.
We have been involved in a number of these real estate sneaky moves by the society.
